At the centre of our farm-to-production chain

Everything begins with the land and the people who cultivate it every day. Our cooperative brings together around 1,600 farmer-members, with whom we share knowledge, responsibilities and goals. Together, we champion Italian agricultural production and oversee the journey of our products, from cultivation all the way to market.

Our farmer-members cultivate around 9,500 hectares of farmland in Italy. Their work is the starting point of our supply chain, contributing to the quality of our raw materials and strengthening our connection with the areas where we operate.

To meet the challenges facing agriculture today and in the future, we also invest in research and innovation. We test new solutions, work on varietal development and provide our farmer-members with specialist expertise and services to support the ongoing evolution of farming practices.

How we support our farmer-members

Working together with our farmer-members means building a strong supply chain every day, with an eye to the future. That is why Orogel supports its member farms with the expertise, resources and tools they need to grow, address the challenges facing the sector and strengthen their ability to innovate and adapt to change. From agronomic support and research to practical assistance in times of difficulty, we provide a comprehensive range of services rooted in cooperation and designed to support the long-term resilience and sustainability of our supply chain.

Agronomy Service

Our cooperative supports its farms in selecting the most suitable growing areas, planning crop rotations and choosing varieties, while promoting practices that safeguard soil fertility and biodiversity and encourage the continued development of farming techniques.

Research and innovation

Orogel takes part in regional and national research projects focused on agriculture and the agri-food supply chain, developing knowledge and tools to support its farmer-members and foster the long-term development of farming practices and agricultural production.

Protection and support

To help safeguard the continuity of its member farms, Orogel has established dedicated funds to provide tangible support in the event of damage caused by extreme weather events, helping to strengthen the resilience of the farms within the cooperative.

How we grow

Our integrated supply chain brings together farmer-members, production facilities and control systems within a single cooperative model. We directly oversee our raw materials from cultivation through to processing. With our fields located close to our production facilities, around 80% of our fresh produce is processed within just a few hours of harvesting, helping to preserve its characteristics.
